Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 S7582

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 S7582 – 4″ Dual SIM Android 4.2 Smartphone Review

  • Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS
  • 4 inc
  • 5 MP Camera
  • Dual SIM Support
  • 768 MB RAM
  • 1.2 GHz, Dual Core Processor
  • 3G Connectivity
  • Wifi Enabled

WHAT'S NEW:

  1. The 1 GHz dual-core processor has now given way to a slightly improved 1.2GHz dual-core processor, as a result of which you can expect better processing speeds.

  2. The S Duos 2 now runs the latest version of Android (Android Jelly Bean 4.2) which gives the users more choice of apps and games and other features alongside.

  3. The S Duos 2 weighs slightly lighter than the S Duos (118gm compared to 120gm), although it is negligible.

WHY YOU WOULD LIKE THIS:

  1. The Galaxy S Duos 2 offers abundant features at a very affordable price, which not many manufacturers might be offering.

  2. The S Duos 2 comes with 5 MP camera with flash and VGA front-facing camera, something that was first noticed in the S Duos from Samsung. The rear shooter takes excellent photos in bright light as well as low light conditions, thanks to the inclusion of the flash.

  3. The new and improved 1.2 GHz processor along with 768 MB RAM will work wonders on day to day use, eliminating extreme lags and fuss. Processing speed is much better compared to other devices in this segment, most of them sporting a meager 1 GHz processor at most.

  4. The new and improved Android Jelly Bean is extremely fluid and rich in features, opening the doors to unending choices and great apps and games.

WHY YOU MIGHT NOT CONSIDER THIS:

  1. At this juncture, 4 inches of screen with a resolution of 480x800 seems pretty outdated and the exclusion of an IPS display worsens the situation. Some people prefering larger screens will be highly disappointed by this.

  2. The same 768MB of RAM might leave certain heavy gamers wishing for more as they might find it difficult to get the most out of this specification.

  3. The VGA front camera will not appeal to people who are a lot into video calling or clicking selfies every now and then.

  4. The same design now looks very very boring. Samsung really needs to work on that to make their devices look more appealing.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

The S Duos 2 has improved, although a little. However if you already owned an S Duos and were looking to upgrade, you will definitely not want to go for this one at least, as this is the same package with very minor refinement on the whole. However for people purchasing their first smartphones, this is undoubtedly excellent.
PS : I own it.
